AboutStudiosProgramsContributeRadio

Responding to the loss of arts and culture hubs across Vancouver, FLEET is a multi-year project that is planning, designing, and constructing a FLEET of moveable studios for working artists. This project will place these studios on a temporary basis throughout the Lower Mainland and manage their ongoing use. Each location for FLEET will bring different contexts and opportunities for arts and culture programs.

Granville Island

Granville Island (Chain & Forge Plaza), Vancouver, BC

FLEET has arrived at Granville Island to build connections with local arts and culture organizations at Granville Island and more widely across Vancouver. Located next to Chain & Forge and adjacent to Debra Sparrow’s Blanketing the City murals, the space will be available to artists, community members, and organizations to activate through programs, residency periods, and public engagements.

Edmonds

Edmonds Park, Burnaby, BC

Burnaby’s Public Art Program has adopted a FLEET into Edmonds Park to build new connections in the neighborhood and to create space for cultural expression. Located in the Park behind the Edmonds Community Centre, the space is set up to host working artists and will regularly be activated as a site for community participation.

FLEET Studios are located on the unceded and ancestral territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations
